Need a couple answers on a w30

The Olds I bought was one of those cars totally dissassembled and scattered in a garage so I don't know where a few things are located.
1'st The 71 manual shows a voltage regulator on the firewall but when I looked at a few w30's they aren't there. Where the heck should it be? I didn't see the holes for it in the firewall either.
2nd, Are the repop bumpers any good?
Thanks,
Dave

I'll bet that assy manual says "except 4400" if you look hard enough. Starting in 1969, the 442s got the internal regulator alternator, while lesser Cutlii got the external regulator. There had better not be a firewall mounted regulator on a 1971 W-30.

I don't know if repop bumpers are any good, but I would rechrome an original one. A lot of guys don't know that a core that is all dinged and bent can be brought back to life by a good plater. As long as the metal is solid. (actually, holes can be cut out and metal welded in, but that is usually cost prohibited, and done only with rare bumpers).
