I am making a 1970 442 clone, wondering if someone can give me an exact measurement to mount the floor shifter and console in the right position (automatic) and I also have to drill floorboard for shifter cable (?) and attach....so I don't want to do this but once....any takers ??? Thanks

Console Mounting

I've got a floorpan in the back of my shed with the console brackets still attached. If someone else doesn't get you the measurements first I'll dig it out and take some photos for you. John

Aren't there dimples in the floor pans for where all of the holes need to be?

Console Placement

Hey Mike
It seems like there is something where the shifter cable goes, but the console brackets are spot welded on and I don't know if there's anything on the floor pan for that. I found a couple photos on my photobucket site, but they don't really help for the shifter and cable location. John

Hi,

I recently converted my car to a dual gate and installed a console (it was originally a column shift car). I have a large number of pics showing hole locations on the floor with reference measurements and also with the shifter mounted and reference to the dash. I know the regular floor shifter and DG shifters had the console in the same location and believe that the shifter itself would be in the same place. All of my measurements are based on the DG but believe it applies to a std floor shift. I also have a nice detailed drawing with lots of dimensions. Email me at boldsmobile@rocketmail.com and i will be happy to send it to you. It is two large emails each containing a zip file.
