Do you think that there is about 30% of the original 1443 made of the 1966 cutlass 442 convertible with 4 speeds? I know of two of 66 cutlass 442 convertibles with automatics that were crushed last year when the scrap prices got high. I tried to buy them but they would not sell them. I guess they were afraid that someone might fix them up an make some money.

I think 10% would be a high guess. It could be closer to 1%, which would be 1.3 of them. OK, probably not that low, but probably not more than a handful. The attached figure might be of interest. (The unit on the vertical axis is percent remaining.)

On average, after about 25 years, vehicle survival approaches about 1% of original production. Of course things can vary depending on original desirability and later collectibility, but I still think it would be down in the single figure percent range.

There's no way to know, and frankly I kinda find it silly - total production is what counts.

Be careful. You're not necessarily the last one. There's another 0.38 of a '66 4-speed 442 convertible out there somewhere!

Whatever the number, each and every one of them is a tri-carb car.
