How many 1970 442 Convertibles with 4 speed and value?
I am going to be looking at a 70 442 4spd convert in a couple weeks. Its all matching numbers needing restoration but solid and supposedly loaded with options. How many of these cars were built and what are they worth when done? I know its got buckets and a ram air hood not much else. Thanks

Great find! Scoop that up fast before somebody get it's. Hard to find. Very rare if it's a true w-30 car. Pretty rare even if it isn't.
I'm currently working on my own 70 442 convert with 4sp. You can see my pictures and more info about vin decoding in my forum called 70 442 w30 resto. Sadly I found out mine is not a true w30 car.
Good luck

only 2,933 442 convertibles were made
only 549 of them were 4 speeds
of that only 96 were W30s
It is interesting that more W30 convertible 4 speeds were made vs the hardtops as a percentage of total made.

there are only 827 1970 442 convs registered in the whole US as of today. That is the number I found while doing research on my 70 W30 conv. But I don't know how many were 4 speeds or W30's, that is all 70 442 convs.
there are only 1587 coupes registered in the US.
that came from a reliable source, trust me...

I'd be real curious as where that person got those numbers as there have to be at least a dozen or so sitting in a garage/barn hidden away and another dozen or so unregistered.
At first glance that isn't a lot but it is still 28% of all 442 convertibles made. That actually seems high. I know as a convertible many would have been kept in better condition longer than a hardtop but I would have thought 15 - 20% would still be surviving not twice that.

Steve
they are true numbers, but only registered in US. they came from a company that the whole auto industry uses and relies on for registered cars in the US.
belive it on not, I have dealt with this company for over 30 years.

sorry, a company that is exclusive to the auto industry, i think. Don't think us average Joes can use it. The information is very expensive to get since every run has to be done by a programmer. I just happen to get it serendipitously.
sorry, but the numbers are real. I have a 30 conv w30 so I wish they were lower..
