First Cutlass 442
First Cutlass 442
Just bought this last week, hope to have it picked up by the end of next week. Can't wait to go cruising! '72 VIN correct for dual exhaust, 350 4bbl matching (I hope), FE2, all the details are correct for it to be a 442, but I won't feel great about that until i see it. Kind of a leap of faith on this one.

Got my new chariot in, all papered and tagged up now. Cleared out a space in the garage.
Power steering, power disk brakes, factory AM/FM/8-track, all working. 4x power windows, power top and factory A/C.
40k original miles.
Took the wife and kids for a cruise the other evening. It was pretty awesome.

Just got it blowing cold. Next up is to see if the 8-track is working. Then I'll probably re-do the interior seats (Legendary is the way to go I hear). I may paint it one day- the paint's about a 6.5- but thats some time away. I wanted to replace the Y71 Outside Temp Indicator, but after tracking one down I thought I'd keep my $475.
No body rust or in the trunk or floorpans, but its got a little rot in the LF wheel well. But hey, after 40 years, who doesnt get a little rot, huh?
I'll post some more pictures later.
I received no documentation with the car other than an oral, two-owner history. The guy I bought it from said he had not dropped the tank, checked under the seats, or gone under the dash. It's a Lansing car, and from what I've read it's unlikely I will find any build sheet hidden in there.

Look under the carpet as well...especially the front carpet where the door sill plates rest along the outer edges of the carpet. Have found them slipped under there a number of times on Lansing built cars.
Sharp looking car!
