Comments/questions from non-442 literate people
This may be too frivolous a subject for this excellent forum, so if it needs to be moved, I won't be offended. Two comments in recent weeks come to mind on my car:
1. My best friend gave me his one owner '68 4-speed convertible after it sat in his garage not running since 1983. My friend and I chased lots of girls in that car up and down Main St. in KC. Of course the car only has lap belts around the bucket seats. My mechanic friend (who's a safety nut) was going with me on the shakedown cruise after routine substantial mechanical restoration. He tries to put on his passenger-side lap belt, and says, Gee, you guys must've been alot skinnier back then!" Ya think??? We nearly wet our pants laughing.
2. My 30-year-old son got to drive the car for his first time over the Christmas Holiday, and he said, "Geez, dad, did you really used to race these things?" I assured him we most certainly did. The look on his face was priceless.

Nothing wrong with a little frivolity. Sharing an anecdote is just fine. I bet you raised a rueful smile on some of us who find the steering wheel a bit closer nowadays
.
There are plenty of posts looking at the lighter side of life.
