Carburetor match

Hi all,
I have a carb # 7040257 (W-33 Police package option on 70' Delta 88?) that I have been told is identical to the correct carb # 7040258 that I need for the correct restoration of my 1970 442 W-30 convertible Auto trans. car excepting the carb #. Does anyone no if this is accurate info?

Thanks,
Richard.

Yours is a w33 carb
here's the w30 carbs:

455 W-30 M.T. (6) 7040256 7002658 - 7033655- "AU"
455 W-30 A.T. 7040258 7031969 7040701- "52C" 7033655- "AU"

52c are the primary rods and AU the secondarys

If you have an automatic, yours is a match to a 442.
a w-30 442....maybe not.

Not sure what the 7040257 was off of originally. My car is an auto trans. with AC. Should have the 7040258 carb from the factory I think. I've been told these are mechanically the same carb. just different numbers. Any thoughts?

Thx,
Richard.
