69 442 ???

I have sean a few 442 with the Oldsmobile scrip on the left side of the hood. Was the hood replaced with a cutlass S hood or did some 442's come with the oldsmobile script on the left front corner.

Why did some cars come with a vacuum pot on the fire wall

I am more familiar with the 1968 models. For 1968, 442's did not have the "Oldsmobile" script on the hood, nor an "S". The grille was different, and it sported a "442" emblem. Decklid, ah.... I THINK 442's got 442 numerals [duh] and a ROCKET instead of an "S" decklid center emblem.

The vacuum storage unit I believe was used on cars with AC, to help operate the vacuum actuated air control doors.

69 442's had no Oldsmobile script
anywhere on them, short of the radio.
If it has the script on the hood it is a Cutlass S
hood. They look identical, except for the script.
I am not sure why it would have the vaccume
pot on the firewall if it wasn't an a/c car.

Vacuum pot

A vacuum pot was also used with the optional power trunk opener, and the optional power door locks.

Agreed on the vacuum tank on the firewall for the trunk release on non-AC cars but only if no power door locks were installed. However, the vacuum power door lock cars had a large coffee-can (literally) sized canister by the battery mounted on the fender well. That is not an easy setup to find. Lots of different combinations of vacuum tanks listed in the assembly manual...
