68 442 rear view mirror questions

I'm getting my hands on a 1968 442 convertible project. It seems to run really well but will need a lot of work in almost everything cosmetic. I noticed that it had really poorly placed sports mirrors (on each side). From looking at other 442 pictures, I'm coming to the conclusion that the 68 442 convertible never came with sport mirrors. Is this correct? Also, I rarely saw pictures with the rear view mirror on the passenger side. Was this even an option or have people just been adding it for personal preference?

To add a little to dnmfrancos post the 68 mirrors will be mounted farther up the door towards the rear quarter to allow room for the vent window actuation verses the 69 coupes (astro ventilation no vent ). 69 post cars were the same as the 68s as far as location.
The drivers side only remote mirror will be a different shape than the manual. The manual will look the same as the passenger optional mirror. I haven't seen too many 68s with the optional passenger side mirror from the factory. I added mine. I'm actually thinking of shaving both off for a cleaner look and wind noise reduction.

That is true mostly have seen 69s w the remote mirror . Maybe it didn't go over well initially in 68.
I as well added one .

They also say the optioned passenger mirror was only available w. The remote mirror.
But my 69 31 has both clam shell mirrors who knows

If you just like the clean look of the same mirror on each side Fusick (and probably everyone else) sells the matching manual mirrors for both sides (my car has them).

My 68 C/S had the remote driver's side mirror and no passenger mirror
