68 442 front Lower Control Arms

Are the 68 and 69 front lower control arms the same? Fusick sells the uppers showing 65-72 years. But the lower are 69-72 years. Also are the repo's pretty descent in compared to looks as the originals? My originals are pretty pitted.

Thanks

64-72 LCAs interchange. Applications in catalogs are notoriously inaccurate. The differences are round vs oval rear bushing, which varies by year and model. This doesn't affect fitment.

I'm glad Joe provided information regarding fitment. I'd suggest unless you don't like cleaning control arms and prefer to spend $$, pitting is rarely an "issue" which would compromise the integrity of the metal. I wouldn't replace any OEM control arm unless it was cracked, broken or had a visible hole which could be visualized.

69 model year is when it seems to be generally accepted "OVAL" lower control arm bushings came into being. There is overlap, where previous stocks of round/round bushing arms were being used up. So it's pretty difficult to say - " oh it's this year, so it has this type of bushing". '64 to '68 yep they should have been round round lowers. '69? could have been either. '70 to '72? Most likely oval / oval lowers. And how many have been swapped out, over the years?

The roundy round crowd, or dirt track people consumed a lot of the round round lower arms. Pretty sure I don't have a round/round single, but can check. Do have a near perfect set, complete, upper and lower, from an El Paso '71 Cutlass. But they are OVAL lowers. NO rot, no scale, no pits. Original Upper ball joints in upper arms - so no air chisel butchery. Southwestern condition.

thanks. My car is a late 68 build date. I’m going to tear into the suspension soon. I’ll let you know.
