Hi..Just got my fiberglass hood and pin and spring kit from the PartsPlaceInc. was wondering if anyone know exactly where the brackets mount on the core support? I recieved no installation directions at all... so if anyone could help with how to install hood and pins and brackets, for my 1971 442, or know where i could download instructions... would be greatlly appreaciated...thanks

 

I would get on PartsPlace Inc's case and get the directions from them.

 

If they match the factory brackets the bolt holes should be there. Measure the hood from the sides to where the lock pins come down and then measure across the top of the core support to that point. If it's still not clear where they should mount let me know and I'll take some pictures for you this weekend. John

 

Be warned that the brackets will likely require major shimming in 2 or three dimensions. Use flat washers.

 

It's actually kind of a no brainer. Take the hood bump stops off the core support and bolt the lock plates down with those. THan you can use 2 more bolts each to secure them to the core support.
