Does any one know if the hood louvers should be chrome or painted body color or a combo of both? Any one have any clear pictures? Thanks Tim

 

This has been a debate for a long time. Every original paint, unmolested '71 I have seen, the louvers were body color, except for the tops edge of each fin, which were left chrome. Some people swear they've seen original cars with all chrome, unpainted louvers and it has been a debate for a long time. My '71 was repainted a dozen or more years ago (by a previous owner) and mine are all chrome but whenever I repaint my car they will be done in body color which I feel is correct.
