1970 Production Figures

Are there any production figures anywhere stating how many regular (non W-30) 442s were produced for the 1970 model year and how many were produced in each color? I've been searching for one in Sebring Yellow with a/c, automatic, bucket seats, W-25 and rear spoiler for quite a while now.

Thanks,
Frank in Virginia

You can get production numbers for 442's and for W30's, but there is no source for color break down, or most of the other options. Many people think because there are services out there for other makes, (Marti Report for Ford, Galen Govier for Chrysler Etc.) That there is one for Olds, unfortunately not.

There is a report for 1970 for numbers by model series by option by month.
So *some* figures are available. Nothing by color. Can tell you how many with automatic, W25, etc., but not in combinations in most cases.

1970 442 total production is 19,330 units.

4487 Holiday (Hardtop) Coupes = 273, 3sp sticks, 3920 4speed sticks, 10518 Automatics
4477 Club Coupes = 96 3sp sticks, 527 4spd sticks, 1065 Autos
4467 Converts = 48 3sp sticks, 549 4sp sticks, 2336 Autos

W30 total production is 3100 units. I can break that down by model and trans if you need it?

Special order Sebring Yellow, code 51 or a - -, is a "rarer" color because it was optional so not as many compared to the standard color options. No number break down though. Mathematically one could come up with an approximate figure by extrapolating but why bother.

I'd be really surprised if you found such a car. A Rallye 350 would satisfy most of your criteria, but even they are getting scarce.

Are you still looking for a Sebring Yellow 1970 Olds 442 W30 car?
I have one complete and in about a 7 condition 1-10 scale.

Warren:
Yes I did. But since completing my car's restoration in 2015, I have had MANY people ask to buy my car at shows and Cars & Coffees. If you e-mail me a good description of the car and it's history as you know it, along with its pictures I will be happy to forward these to anyone who appears to be truly interested in purchasing a 442 like mine.
