I was looking for a site that might list production numbers. I know the W-30 option was only available on 1300 -442's. But how many were built with the Dual gate shifter and A/C? I have a chance to purchase one such OLDS, but the asking price is $25K. The car is not perfect but it is streetable and has very little rust. ANY HELP is appreciated...

Try www.442.com in their FAQ section, it has a lot of info on W-Machines. Also, talk to the guys over at www.realoldspower.com . They are very knowledgeable about this kind of thing and can usually answer any question about Oldsmobiles.

I was looking for more along the lines of -- How many of these W-Machines were produced, with this option combination -- Also looking for value comments. I tried to post a picture but it seems I cannot make the picture small enough to post...I will work on this...It is a factory correct W-30 according to all the numbers on the vehicle...

I know now that even if this is not the car for me---It will be a Olds 442 that I do purchase.

to give you an idea of the value I sold a 70442 W30 in Tor red with the following options W-27 rear end w25 cold air hood rear wing 8 terack player/ air conditioning automatic 3.42 posi limited slip. and the Hurst dual gate It was a daily driver with a fresh rebuild on the engine and tranny good chrome and working air had all parts needed a restoration to be show quality it had no rust and paint still held a shine with wax it had 69K on it when sold
sold it in 1989 for 11,500 I have seen similar cars restored go for over 45K .in todays market..Nice car it would sit and spin but when rebuilt I needed octane boost at all times with stock pistons and w 30 cam it did not like low octane and my builder had the timing retarded a few degrees to help. I ran a 12.89 @ 106 in it at with advanced timing good gas and some wheelspin OHHH YEAH! The W 30 is a car to behold in the 1970 model year

if youre looking at a w30,and there is no paperwork,that makes a big difference in price.

99% of w30's for sale with no paperwork are clones.

there were about 3-4000 w30's made in 70.
breaking it down into options doesnt mean much.

A breakdown by options (other than model/engine/transmission) does not exist for Oldsmobile for 1970. They had a lot of records destroyed in a fire around the late 70s or so and the detailed info like the other makes have is gone (unless your car was originally sold into Canada). The GM Heritage center can provide model specific info for cars of that era, but nothing "really interesting"... They can do better on newer Olds.
