1968 Rear Qtr. Panel

I have major rust in my 68 442 drivers side rear quarter panel with no doubt, some rust on the inner fender piece as well. Any advice as to a good source for the patch or does it need the entire panel? A good fit is critical for a patch or a panel. Also any advice as to the correct way to attack this project would be appreciated. I'm a shade tree welder and car restorer always on a steep learning curve but enjoy the challenge!
Thanks,

Russ

All the restoration houses sell the Chinesium patch panels. This is all that is available new for the 68s. The fit is horrible and requires a lot of hand finishing to get an acceptable repair. The alternative is to find rust-free original sheetmetal from the southwest.

Thanks Joe....the quality of the fit was primarily what I needed to know.

1968 Quarter Panel

Russ, where are you located? Something like that would be hard to ship, but if your not too far away I know of a 1968 Cutlass in a local bone yard. If I had the room it would be in my yard! John
