1968 400 ci valve covers?

Okay, my valve cover gaskets are leaking. Since they have to come off I would like to put some OEM covers on and paint as much as possible on the engine to freshen up.

Are there any interchanges that are correct (350 ci)? Does anyone have a lead on new or old ones? I know a lot of engines are dressed up but want to go stock.

Thanks Dave

While any 64-90 Olds valve covers will fit, only the "notched" 68-72 valve covers are correct.

400 and 455 from an A-body only. These are the only notched valve covers. The others will work, but will not look correct.

I have a notched set that I might part with. Not sure if they are originally from an A-Body. They came off the '69 400 that came in my '70.
Where are you located?

I am in Austin, TX. You can email me at dstillson@austin.rr.com. Let me know if you want to let loose of them and what you want. Dave

They are. Only A-body cars used the notched covers.

Does any one have a picture of the "notched cover" so I know what is correct? Where is the notch?

And the notches go towards the BACK of the motor.

Here is a pic of them on the car before I took them off. They are pretty clean but are black so I'd think you'd want to paint them.
I wouldn't know what to ask for them.

Some people ask a lot for these, but i don't think this is reasonable

Didn't realize the pic was so small. I'll take some better pics.
