1965 Oldsmobile 442 Restoration

I just acquired this 442 from my Uncle who was the original owner of it. Any suggestions to sites that will allow me to restore this car to original condition would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You're in the right place to start. Check out http://www.442bro.com/ It is the most comprehensive site for the 65's. You will be able to verify the originality, as he has most of the numbers listed for what should be there. Also you will be able to decode the trim tag on the firewall. Looks like it has the optional reversed chrome N-98 wheels which is a plus. Ask questions, search the forum and have fun!

Great shots John! You are doing a great job on this restoration project. I’m glad that you are working on this for me. I can’t wait for it to get painted.

IMHO, I would leave the paint as is, not many ‘65 442’s that are true survivors.

I’m not sure but it does look like the rear quarter panel at one time may have been repainted and there a few small dents from something that do need repairing. I agree if everything was perfect I would give the car a good buffing job a go with it but I need to have a little body work done.
