Super Stock IV polycast ???
Newbie here, not an Olds guy.
Neighbor has an early '70s 88 that has what I think are called "Super Stock IV polycast" wheel covers. From what I can see on the web they are rare. Neighbor inherited the car and knows about as much as I do.
My question is: are these just a wheel-cover option, or did they go with a package that included other equipment?
thx

RPO P05 was a stand-alone option available on Delta 88s in the 1971 and 72 model years. Interestingly the option price was $101.11 for the 1971 model year and dropped to $98.00 for the 1972 model year. They are not "wheelcovers". These are steel wheels with an integrally-molded (polycast) urethane outer face. This technology was developed by the Motor Wheel company and was also used on the Pontiac honeycomb wheels and the Motor Wheel aftermarket Exciter wheels.

I found a set of SS IV's for $500 including tires a few years ago and put them on my 75 Delta 88 Vert. Yes they are very rare, hard to find and expensive if you do. I got really lucky. Have a day sir.

Joe is correct. My first experience with 'Poly Cast Wheels' was on some 1977 T-Bird stuff when I was younger. I always wondered what they were made of. Neat technology from back in the day.

My story is that my 69 H/O had two Pontiac honeycomb wheels on it when I got it in 1981. After I replaced them with correct H/O wheels, I had one of the honeycombs laying on the garage floor. I dropped a wrench, which naturally landed directly on the wheel. Imagine my surprise when the wrench bounced!
