SSI's swap meet specials
Hey Ya'll,
Here's a few pics of SSI's I picked up for 80 bucks w/no caps at a swap meet. I got the caps on fleabay for another $70. They were painted gold as shown in the before pic. I then sand blasted the centers, primed and painted with Iron color ceramic paint and a couple coats of clear. I know it's not the original flat black color, but I like the look. I swapped over the tires I already had as they still got a few miles left in 'em. The mount/balance and chrome valve stems cost another $50. So $200 bucks is not too bad of a deal. Now I need to get a good chrome cleaner/polish as they still look a bit tarnished in spots. And I was lucky these are code 810 from a '69 that fit disc brakes which I didn't know until after I got them home. These are 14 x 6 and with the 215/70 tire they look alot skinnier than the SSII that were on there which are 14 x 7 that came from a '71. May soon be time for some 15" or 17" cragars or torq thrust to fill out the wheels wells better. I'll be listing the SSII's in the for sale section as soon as I get a pic.
Take care,
Rob
