Good quality SS1 wheels

I’ll be upgrading to disc brakes soon so my drum 14” SS1 wheels will need to be swapped out.

Is there a good option for quality SS1 wheels? I looked at American Racing but their cast version has a machined finish. The 2 piece version might be an option since they are fully polished but they are pricey.

Are you only looking for 14 or 15 inch or are you OK going with 17 and up? I run 18 and 19 inch Schott wheels.

They are high quality, custom made to order, and as you would expect expensive.

There are SSIs that clear factory disc brakes. In fact, there are more varieties that do than don't.

The 66-69 14x6 all chrome do not clear.
The 69 only 14x6 all chrome do clear.
The 70-71 or 72 14x7 beauty rings do clear.
The 71 all chrome 14x7s do clear.

That's assuming factory disc brakes.

I really like those. I’ll have to look into them more.

I was thinking of moving up to at least a 17 since I have a Kore3 brake kit sitting in a box on the shelf but lately I’ve considered changing directions and going with 15” wheels

I like those. More authentic. The first set (Post #2) look too "modern industrial" and give the car an awkward stark look.

glad to help.
I’ve been looking also, still trying to find a pair of aftermarket 15x8 ssIII for my rear but if I can’t find a pair I think these are the way I will go.

I did ask them the weight and I think it was 18lbs…save a few over the steel version.
