You can do it by droping the stearing linkage, Unbolt it from the frame on the passenger side and pull it down as far as you can then cran the wheel to the left and the pan will clear. Thats what I did on mine. Oh and if you have single exhaust remove the crossover exhaust

Thanks Citcapp!! I have about 3 k on motor, sat for a long while... thus the front seal dried out... While I have your attention::
A fast way to fix a pesky fuel gage.
New sender from Fusick... reads 3/4 when full (24gal?)... when 1/4 indicated ,takes 11 gallons to her up..Tank has no bumps or bends..
Thanks again,

I would like to figure this one out myself. I have almost the same problem and others I have talked to have the same issue. If fact when I filled it up today it was reading a 1/4 tank and took 12.2 gallons. I have gotten into the habit of just filling it up at a 1/4 tank just to be safe.

Guage resistance is 90 ohms...before you install guage hook it up to the car and ground the frame of the guage to the car and manually move float and check guage reading at different float heights...might have to bend float rod to get readings at right level...

Good idea.. Thanks.. Fusiks sender (I believe ) is OK.. I was trying to get around pulling the panel....
But if the resistance is 90ohms( thanks for the info) I will start by chasing a good ground first...
Nice to know someone else has that problem .
Thanks Citcapp and Yellowstone.
