Weekend junkyard th350 search, need help
Hey guys, have myself a 1966 olds cutlass with a 330. I was previously thinking of a 200r4 trans, but am now settled on a th350 BOP. I am going junkyard cruising this weekend at a local u-pull. Lots of classics. Question is, what years and what models BOP should I look at for a th350?? (Dont have the knowledge and I know yall do.)

What transmission are you replacing? Are you getting one to rebuild before installing?
Be careful no to get a TH250C, they are easy to mistake for a TH350. The 250 has an external band adjustment on the right side near the cooler line ports, it is a short threaded rod with a jamb nut. The 350 does not have this adjustment.
This is a good time to max the torque converter selection, I'm not the person to advise about which one to get other members will advise.
Good luck!!!

Great news! Went to the junkyard and the fella had tons of bop th350s. He was a real nice older fella, said he loves seeing classics back up and driven. He said hes got a good condition bop th350 out of some olds hed sell me. With that hed give me a torque converter to match, find a dipstick, and give me a few yolks to go with it. All for 250 bucks canadian! Which is less for you americans, not sure how much. Regardless i thought it was suspiciously low but this guy is real well known around the community and said he just wanted to see that car up and running. Even told me id have to take him on a drive when i had the olds purring again. Great start to the weekend.

Cool, as said, just watch for a band adjustment near the cooler lines. An electrical plug is lock up transmission which uses a unique torque converter. I also was paying $250 Canadian for used trans at local wreckers, it is a fair price. The stock converter is not what you want unless you stay very mild on your cam selection. No harm in taking it, they stall around 1600 rpm.
