help with dual gate shift cable
Hi, after getting all the back drive rods adjusted correctly on my '72 cutlass with th400 trans I am having an issue now with the shifter cable . I am not getting low 1 to engage if I adjust so park position is correct. I have tried several times to try adjusting the pin position on the trans lever only to find out that the cable eye in l1 is about a quarter inch to the long side of the pin center when adjusted all the way to the front of the car. It seems as though the shift cable mounting bracket is the problem . Has anyone else run into this and if so what was the solution to fix it ?

Yes
you can loosen the bracket bolts and the bracket should slide alittle. If not enough, you can oblong the holes out to get adjustability.
I ended up cutting the bracket and welding a small bead in to make it 1/4 in longer.
summit racing has shift works cable that's fully adjustable also.
