Do I Need a New Torque/Stall Converter??

I am about to get my Turbo 350 Trans rebuilt but i am on a budget... my question is if ive never had a problem with my torque converter and its never leaked is it necessary to change it with the rebuild? if not it'll save me $100 on my rebuild... i know it may be best but ive just never had a problem with it.... Thanks

Would you use a old oil pump in a new engine since it still put out good oil pressure?

you can never get all the old fuild out unless you have spiecal tools or it has drain plug. then there still could be left dirt and metal peices inside.
