Adding Lucas treatment to ST300 2 Speed Jetaway?

My 4 door 68 Cutlass Supreme with 350 Rocket came with a ST300 2 Speed Jetaway. The trans is starting to slip in fast turns or hesitate / jerk when reaching 40-50mph trying to shift into second. Money is tight so I'm saving for a figure TH350 swap bit my mechanic drove it and told me I can try adding a bottle of Lucas transmission formula. He said its in a red bottle. Is he talking about Lucas Transmission Fix or their Conditioner? Is this safe for a temp fix? He just topped it off 1.5quarts so I know its full. So I need to dump some out or can I just add half a bottle and see where it goes? Don't wanna do more damage its my daily driver

Where is the fluid going? 1.5 qts is alot. How's your vacuum modulator, is the vacuum line good, is the modulator leaking fluid? How does it down shift?

If thats ok, Lucas will not hurt anything, but may not help either. Yes, I would have the amount of fluid you are going to add removed first as you do not want over fill. If Lucas recommends the whole bottle I would add the whole bottle.

No, you can take it to a quickie lube place and have them vacuum some out thru the dipstick tube.

use one of the cheapo suction tube/bellows type gadgets from A-zone! Stick it down the dipshtick tube and siphon into a bottle or something to measure how much you take out. Put the Lucas stuff in and try it out. If you are not leaking out the bottom, sounds like vacuum moducator is bad.

Did just that. Added the Lucas Transmission Fix and Im not one for placebos but the transmission has been running smoother. They recommend 200 miles for it to fully "work". So far I cant complain for $11.

Maybe you guys can help me trouble shoot whats wrong with my tranny. I recorded this video today after I installed the tachometer. Im able to monitor RPMS and can see when how much its jumping. When I get to 40-50mph....you can see the RPM jump from 2 to 3 over and over until it climbs over 50-55mph then it rides fine. It gives off this surging, jolting feeling until I pass that point. It was doing this for some time and I figure the tranny is wore and needs to be swapped soon but the Lucas helped it a bit as it doesnt do it as violently anymore. Here is a video maybe you can figure it out and shoot me some advice. I do want to throw a TH350 in my car eventually when the money comes around.
