Hi guys (and gals)

I have a few questions about the 1957 371 engine . I hear people saying that the optional J-2 engines for 1957 offered anywhere from 300 to 312 HP for that year. Was the compression 9.5 to 1 for all 1957 offered models in 1957, or did they offer 10 to 1 or any other compression options for that year? I know the 1958 did. What was the highest rating of HP for the J-2 1957 371? Did the J-2 for 57 offer more than one cam option and mechanical lifters, or was that just in 58? Wow, I guess that is more than a few questions. Sorry.
