1955 Olds Fuel Bowl Filter

Anyone out there know what to use? Bought remanufactured fuel pump but it doesn't come with the glass bowl filter - none listed in Fusick's catalog - local parts store lookup comes up with an in-line filter application. I know the original was a sediment stone (I don't have anything) - isn't there a replacement cartridge that can be used? Any leads or info is appreciated.

I tend to see them from time to time NOS in the box.. But you have to wonder if its a smart thing to actually use them since they almost crumble into ash in your hand! An inline aftermarket hidden one would be a better solution

I put one on my 55 Cadillac. I got it off of eBay. As for the filters disintegrating, maybe one made in 1955, but the filter is a stock item at most auto stores.

try vintage tractor sites

you might also try The Filling Station in Lebanon, OR. they are primarily Chevrolet parts but might have what you need

Try 'Tractor Supply Chain' - they have a lot of fuel systems parts for tractors...my Oliver glass bowl is too big for the '57...take the fuel pump with you to the store...
