RPM hood clearance

Hey guys,

I got off of the phone with Edelbrock today and they told me the 7111 (Performer RPM and not just the Performer) would not fit under a stock hood?!

That came as a bit of a surprise...I have a 72 Cutlass S with the regular louvered hood. Any info would be helpful!

Ben

Hey Joe!

I spoke to EBrock today and they said a 7111 on a 350 wouldn't fit under a stock hood (72 Cutlass S Non OAI).

Any advice?

They are wrong. I have the rpm with a 1 inch spacer and a non drop base air cleaner . It nearly hits the hood.

News to me. Considering that the 455 was optional in those cars and the carb sat at least 1" higher than it did on the 350 motors, I doubt there will be an issue. They didn't happen to suggest that the engine was "offset", did they...

Also, it probably isn't in your best interest to resurrect TWO threads dead since April to ask a marginally-related question. You'll typically get a better response by simply starting a new thread. I've collected all your posts into this thread.
