Do I need a internal or external balance flywheel for a 330 engine? Thanks

I don't think this is a worry as the one that bolts to your crank should have the right balance.

or do you mean a harmonic balancer as opposed to the flywheel?

All Olds V8s are externally balanced from the factory. Unless you have custom-balanced your motor for internal balance, that's what you need.
