Boring after bored?

Hey,

My 350 2 barrel has been rebuilt once at 124k and it now has 194k or at least that's what the speedo reads. It was bored .030 over the first go round, can it be bored out anymore? Hopefully I won't need to worry about it anytime soon as it runs strong and decent and doesn't burn any oil. But in general, is there a rule of thumb for how many times a block can be bored out?

Thanks, Rob

Bored

If it's an early 350 you can go all the way to .068 over and beyond. I just did a 69 350 to 4.155 and still had plenty of wall thickness left. No need to worry.

No rule of thumb here, this is dependent on how much material the manufacturer graced the part with.
The tell all WILL BE a sonic check, done by good performance machine shops (and only when the block is torn all the way down).
Most every Oldsmobile block will take .060" over bores with no problem.
Some Ford blocks are too thin at .030".
