85 cutlass 307 to 350 swap
I,m swapping out my 307 for a 350 (yes olds not chevy). I'm planning on using the excisting q-jet because the car runs good at the present time. I'm installing headers, turbo 400, and 2.41 rear gear posi. I've got the good intake (I don't remember the #) and the 5A heads.
Will I have a problem running the 307's 4brl q-jet?
Should I install the O2 sensor into the exhaust?
I'm eliminating the air pump and the related hoses and tubing also.
Any info would be great.
Thanks
Pinner

Hi Welcome to the forum. Does your carb have the electrcal connection for the computer? If so, keep the o2 sensor, unless you plan on getting rid of the computer. You may also want to open up the secondaries by changing the rods. The 350 will like the extra fuel when you open the 4bbl's, and so will you. Also, have you modified the tranny brace for the 400 and duals. Let us know, and good luck with your olds project. Jim.

Everything will work fine, I too have that question about the carb, I'm looking to drop a 350 in my Delta soon, butwould like to keep the current carb, for now.
I would go with a higher gear than 2.41, 3.42's are nice in a Cultass and 3.73's would kick butt!! That's what I'm looking to put in mine, but the Delta is about 300 lbs heavier than the Cutlass

Thanks for the info guys. I'll keep the computer, and open the secondaries like you said. I've got 2 tranny crossmembers that I'll utilize for the modification. I'll keep you posted. I know the 2.41's are high but I'm giving the car to my kid for graduation. I don't want to get to carried away just yet. Thanks Pinner
