7a Head Flow numbers
Hi Guys,
I had a set of 7a's flowed that are going on a 380 SBO build for someone on here.
The heads have 2.00/1.62 valves, some bowl blending and smoothed chambers along with filled risers and welded dividers. All seats are 45 degree with a 3 angle valve job and backcut valves. No other porting was performed.
These heads were flowed on the exact same machine as the Procomp vs Edelbrock test I posted earlier and used the same 4.155 bore and center cylinder.
.100 59.5 54
.200 114.5 94.5
.300 170.5 124
.400 197 146.5
.500 209 162
.600 217 172
Compare these numbers to the link below. I think he would've have gained high lift flow (over .400) by going to a 45 degree seat. But with that said, you're only going to get so much out of these, the runners are just too small to support anything much over 250cfm.

But not bad considering these started out as probably the worst quality castings I've ever seen.
Thanks!

Havent picked them up yet so not sure of the damages. But a quick calculation would be approx $1000.00. New valves, springs, retainers, locks, guides, exhaust seats, seals, filled crossovers and welded dividers. Plus they milled the head surfaces and the rocker pads.

Comparison of the posts so far... costs of all the parts etc need to be added except to cast iron 7a...
