69 Cutlass Carb

Trying to decide which carb to put on my 69 350 MT Cutlass project. Have 3 quadrajets; 1985 Chevy (will use for some parts maybe), 1969 for a 400 MT, and a 69 buick 350 MT version. Leaning toward the 7029251 (400CI) since I have the rebuild kit.

The chevy qjet is on the running car now. It came with it.

Suggestions and or comments appreciated. Start the carb work this weekend.

An '85 Chevey should have electronic controls, no? I'd choose between the two older carbs based on what is in better condition.

The 7029251 is a close match for your application; slight jetting differences mainly.

Rebuild, adjust EVERYthing, it should be fine. Start with ensuring the throttle plates open to exactly 90 degrees at a full pull on the cable-

the 7029251 would be the best choice, depending on it's condition, it will require some recalibration. it should have the correct throttle end and choke assembly. the 350 would use AT secondary rods, the 455 will have AU's.
