Question 330 Fuel pump... Same as a 350/400/455?

Is a 330 fuel pump the same as a 350/400/455?

Napa & Schucks both don't list one for the 330. Summit has a Mr Gasket one, but i don'treally want to pay $12 shipping...

Hopeing one of the others is the same and the catalogs are just messed up.

Thanks.
Ben

They may not be identical, but they are interchangeable. The only meaningful difference is whether the pump has the third connection for the return line or not. As a rule, hi-perf and A/C cars used fuel return, lesser cars did not.

Cool, thats what i was hoping, and what i needed to know.

Mine only has the single line, So hopefully one for 350 would have a single line too...

THanks!

Hi Joe-
Doing a little more research... Fusic's catalog does not list a pump for 1966 330. 64,65,67- but no 66.

For kicks i went back to www.napaonline.com and searched for a 67 cutlass 330- and it lists a pump... 65 lists two different pumps- and 64 lists a different pump still.

are these differences in the way the fittings are clocked, or something else?

I'm worried ordering the 67 pump, that maybe something with the 39 vs 45 degree cam bank might cause issues (didn't 67 330's change the cam bank angle?)

Thanks...

Cam bank angle won't have anything to do with the fuel pump. Just the return line hook up and possibly the height of it. I think (I could be going senile) have seen some tall ones, but I think those are only for the BB.

I've never paid much attention to exact catalog listings for fuel pumps and I've never had a problem bolting any Olds fuel pump to any Olds block. You can even cap the return fitting on the pump if you don't need it. There may be some differences in clocking of the inlet and outlet fittings, but nothing that rebending the line won't fix.

ok, cool.
I ordered one from napa for a 67 330. $33, so i can't complain.

New gas tank will be here next tuesday as well. Hopefully between these two it will solve my gunk in the carb problems.
