Just to clear things up
As some of you might recall, Wmachine had to straighten me out on 442 air cleaner bases in the above thread. I had a 442 air cleaner on my Vista.
Anywho, for those of you who give a whip. After I spruced up the Vista engine. I hung up the 442 air cleaner base next to another base. Perhaps this picture makes it the snorkle diffs more clear.

The HO and standard 442 base is the same EXCEPT, on the HO base there's an extra hole thats "punched" into it on the drivers side for the second breather tube. Unless you have a way to punch the 7/8" hole in it so it folds over to the outside it will not look "100% correct." You can however, drill the hole and hope that no one ever see's the diffrence.
Also, the drivers side air breather tube, from what Im told, is diffrent from the passengers side tube and is near impossible to find. Can anyone varify this? Last edited by WTony; November 2nd, 2009 at 04:01 PM.. |

I agree Tony but the non 442/H/O has a smaller snout.
