66 L69 4 Speed Accelerator Bracket Parts Needed

After disassembling the bracket two parts are worn on the ends such that they need to be repaired or replaced. One is the detachable rod and the other is the detachable triangular piece secured by two screws. I know that the bellcrank is different on a tri-carb 66, but I am unsure about the other parts relative to a 4 barrel 400 or a 330 car. I am also unaware if the bracket parts are different between automatic and manual cars. I am attempting to attach illustrative pictures:

The firewall mechanism itself is the same for auto or manual. The difference is the auto switch has the be removed and the manual bracket installed. The bellcrank is different 4V to tri carb. The rod that you have pictured is the same for both auto and manual. There's another part on the manual assy. that limits the travel of the bellcrank.

Given the rarity of those parts, your best bet might be to weld up the worn areas and grind them back to the proper shape. That's not an uncommon process, especially for industrial applications.

Joe——I did have a machine shop do that with parts for the clutch mechanism.

I may have no other choice with these pieces, but first I needed to verify if there were any good used parts available through this Board. Of course, used parts may have the same degree of wear.

Another question relating to the same accelerator bracket assembly is the correct finish. My unit has a green return spring, but I would describe the overall finish and the mounting hardware as consistent with Eastwood’s Detail Gray paint. I have a friend who is also restoring a 66 L69. He is wondering whether his factory finish on the same piece is grey phosphate like factory hood hinges. Any experiences with restoring this piece and the 3 mounting screws with the correct finish would be appreciated.

Gray phosphate is correct.

Here is the same accelerator bracket assembly rod after it had new pins installed by a local master machinist who teaches the craft at the local Technical College:

Great choice to have it restored; the ends are noticeably different on the reproductions.

As far as I know those rods have not been repo'd.
