Here's what Starfire guys want:
Grille and headlight bezels (extra $$ if they're the early ones with the glass covers)
Hood windsplit moulding
Rear bumper
Taillights
Rear end trim panel
Body side mouldings with good exhaust ports
Exhaust extensions that fit thru the side mouldings
These parts will have to be nice to bring any high $$ because rechroming all that potmetal can get disastrously expensive.
If it has bolt-on cast aluminum wheelcovers those usually bring some decent coin, but YOU HAVE TO GET THE WHEELS TOO. They won't attach to a regular wheel.
Starfire specific interior parts can sell good too esp if they're the right color.
Is the car worth selling whole?

So what would a set of 66 Starfire bumpers, fresh from the chromer be worth? I got a set with my car and the bumpers on it are not that bad, i thought about selling them to fund the interior re-do.

Whatever a normal replate job would cost, a few hundred per bumper. You should have all 3 pieces for the front and the one-piece back. The advantage is they fit all 1966 Oldsmobile B cars (88 & Starfire) and the front also fits Ninety Eight.
Just make sure you don't get the rest of the car so nice that you'll wish you had kept the freshly rechromed bumpers, because I can about guarantee if you have to have yer cores redone, it will cost more than you sold them for!
There's that voice of experience speaking again...
The reproduction S manifolds have hurt the market for originals a little, but those fit all 65-70 B & C body Oldsmobiles and are worth snagging if they're cheap. Shoot, pull the whole Starfire engine...

Joe,
I will stop by there tomorrow, and check and see what wheels it has! If it does have the aluminum wheels, I will take pics and send them! You can call me @ 940-368-9604, if there is anything else to check for!

Joe,
I stopped by there today, it does not have the aluminum wheels, it has about every other option though! All the power!

New Journey With Olds came today and someone had an ad wanting a good 65 SF rear bumper. Back bumper on this one any 'count? No rust thru or other common problems?
Gene, none of the Starfire pieces will work on your Ninety Eight.

OK, here's the snag. I'm in the UK !!
I've got my eye on one on ebay that ends in a few minutes, if that for whatever reason doesn't happen, would you consider an international shipment?
Is it definitely a 4 barrel fitment?

1966 Olds Starfire parts
I have a 1966 Olds Starfire. I need a right side rear window glass (power windows). Can you tell me if any other Olds models glass will fit; suppliers that might carry this window; and what I might expect to pay for this passenger side rear window glass? Thanks in advance.

Probably you will need to find the glass from a 65-66 Starfire or '65 Jetstar I hardtop (not sure about the S/F convertibles..also sure if a similar era Grand Prix window would work). I wouldn't think it would matter if it was power on non-power window car for just the glass. I am sorry I can't advise on price or where to find; might want to search the net for junkyards or individuals who might be parting these cars.

This bumper just sold on Ebay a few days back. I had my eye on it for a while, was listed a few times before finally selling. Seller is notorious for high prices, yet someone out there ponied up the cash. Thing is, its been quite some time since I saw anything decent for sale AT ALL. As time goes by, parts cars are getting fewer and farther (or is that further?) between. It's getting really tough to find parts. Never thought l'd see the day where a so-so rear bumper for a fullsize '65 Olds would go for nearly $800. But its here.

By the way, this FS thread is 5 years old...

I watched that too. I offered that guy 350$ for it and he said that they have sole some of those for close to 1000$. I think it is totally crazy. You can get a new bumper dor an Impala for almost the same money... .
