This block was sold in 2014 if my memory is correct. What had been done to it and thought there was big plans for it ? That looks like a raw block and a fortune to machine?

Yes sir, I bought it in January of 2014! The block is in the same condition as when I bought it. It was never bored and I believe the bore size is 3.8 inches. The mains are already drilled and threaded for 4 bolt caps. As stated above this is a 2.75” main block. I don’t think you’d have more machine work to do as a D/DX would require to be race prepped.

What's the purpose of have grooved main bearing saddles. Are the bearings different?

I would think to keep more oil on the back side of the bearings like the back grooved durabond cam bearings. Maybe I’m wrong.

What is with the drilling into the mains.. seems like a few misses before the "good" drilling
