455 Forged Crank

455 Forged Crank
Im posting my forged crank on here to see what i can get out of it. I have no idea about pricing on these and from what ive gathered its pretty random so excuse me for taking offers. Crank is still in the block along with the rotating assembly, i will sell the rest of the rotating assembly with it if anyone is interested. The crank itself seems to be in perfect shape, the motor had never been cracked open before this and the whole assembly spins very freely and seems to be very healthy. Crank is not drilled for a manual trans. One of the pistons has some nicks where it slammed into the exhaust valve, thats the only damage i know of
Best offer takes it. I'll be removing the crank/rotating assembly from the block in the next few days and will post more pics then, until then i have this pic of the rear flange to prove it is a forged unit, the crank has an AC code on it as well but i do not have a pic of that yet
Id appreciate any input on what a fair price may be. I'll be posting more pics of it soon as to give a better idea of condition

No problem, i'll get a pic of those soon. Are the numbers in the same place on the forged cranks as they are on the cast cranks? I was looking for the numbers earlier and all i found was the AC stamping?

I just came in from the garage to look at a 425 crank and your right, I had it backwards thinking it was near the front. I'm on the wiki site right now and the forged 455 crank number should be 400943 so that sounds like you've got the real deal. Congrats! Prior to the economy crashing $600-800 was common. But now I don't know what the market will bear. Maybe some of the other members have ideas on recent prices. Good Luck with your sale! John

More pics
Thanks John!
Pics are hard to see so i added a few with different lighting/angles. Its easier to see in person numbers 943 are visible

I couldnt tell a difference myself, id have to get it on a scale sometime. Ive heard theyre a few pounds heavier, 4 or so seems to be the norm. Itd be a sweet crank to stroke out to 4.5"
