Jack Assembly Paint

Hello Fellow Olds Fans

I purchased a 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme in July 2012. Mostly complete, it lacked a jack assembly, which I recently located and purchased. A tire iron and bumper 'hook' came with the car.

The new assembly will need clean up and paint. Doing some online research, it appears the jack assembley was painted grey. And sure enough, the hook that came with the car, has grey showing through a poorly applied pale yellow paint.

My question: Can anyone refer me to the correct grey colour for the jack assembly?

Thanks

My understanding is the jacks came in black or grey depending on the assembly plant. Others my chime in and correct me.

Thanks Jamesbo

Something else to look in to I suppose, which plant had which colour. I will have to look again as to the assembly plant, believe it was in California.

The H/O didn't really go up in smoke, did it???

My '69 4-4-2 is from Fremont and my '68 4-4-2 is from Lansing. Both jacks are grey. I took my grey craddle into Napa and they matched the color (not exactly, but real close) and put it in a spray can for me.

Thanks Randy

I will go with that, which is and excellent idea. There is a small patch that I believe is the original grey.

To be more specific, Plasti-kote T-37 Federal Grey. If you are in B.C., Lordco sells it, but I am sure most auto supply stores carry it.

I'm sure you can pick up a similar product at Canadian tire. Just take a color swatch with you. google federal gray.

FWIW, my car was produced at Lansing and the jack assembly was black except for the handle; which is gray.

This is the product Tom was talking about
