You can buy OEM equivalent parts, like those from Delphi and ACDelco, but understand that these parts suppliers have been spun off from GM and most of these "equivalent" parts are not US-made anymore. Your money, your call.

I'm confused by this. What are his choices? It sounds like he has only one.
It seems that, if these are no longer available new, the only choice is what you can get at the counter at the auto parts store, and that's something non-U.S. made. Unless he gets the original rebuilt. But if an aftermarket replacement, Chinese-made or not, works, why bother? It's not like you're trying to get fender sheet metal to line up. As long as it blows cold air, who cares where it's made?
