Convertible top line up question

Looking for some advice. I have a convertible top that has been down for 3 years. The top was put down and the car was partialy dissembled for blasting and paint by someone else (long story). I just got the electrical figured out and put the top up now the drivers side pin is about 3/8" short of hitting the line up hole. Is there a spacer I am missing here? The passenger side latches good. The top was not removed during all of the work but the top of the windshield and latch receptacle was. Before all of the this the top lined up very well. I am hoping I am missing something simple.

It may be due to the top material needing to return to shape after being down for so long.

Before making any adjustments to the mechanism, I would manually move it so the pin drops in, latch it down, and leave it for a while, in the sun as much as possible.

Cant even pull it that far forward. I put it up on 2 days ago and its been sitting in the garage at 60 degrees. Im hoping your right and it will stretch on its own in the up position.

Put it out in the bright sun for a couple of hours if it isn’t too cold out, it’ll give you a fighting chance.

Out in the direct sun ,or inside with sunshine through a window, turn the heat on inside the car with windows up. Anything to get the material to expand.

If it comes to it, the latches can be adjusted fore/aft. If your frame lined up before, the problem is likely top shrinkage so try to get it to relax prior to making any frame adjustments.
