My 71 Resto-Mod - a work in progress

Base model '71.
Bought it 6 years ago - looked nice, but when I found the original steering wheel in the trunk... I knew it was a barn rescue.

Current state of affairs (finished this year) -
- 6.0L LS fresh w/ mild cam, fully upgraded topside, high-performance intake, long-pipe headers, 3" Magnaflow exhaust)
- T-400 + upgraded internals w/ Hurst Dual-Gate
- Moser 3:42 rear
- Discs all around
- 19x9.5 rear / 18x9 front with Perelli rubber
- Majority aftermarket suspension F/R (barely leans in hard corners) + quick ratio steering box
- Vintage Air - in-dash system
- New dash, Dakota Digital gauge pack and new electrical though out.
- Pearl console interior

Future plans (begins Fall 2021) -
[ The goal is a very agressive daily driver ]
- Full P&B (frame on) + all new glass
- Custom pinned Carbon Fiber induction hood
- Suspension tune - about 1" lower
- 2-piece Racing Wheel Swap
- Transmission upgrade TBD (T-56?)
- and when I get tired of it a couple years dtr, I plan to drop a CTSV supercharger on top if the LS.

I haven't had it home in 9 months - waiting for final details and pick up.

Profile. Engine swap bounced the nose up about an inch...

Waiting for the dyno tune for specs.

Pre-swap about a year ago. ...she was such a sweet old girl then... coming home all angry and ripped. Can't wait.

My son, who will be doing my paint and body later this year has the car now - so no, I haven't driven it. He's having it tuned, finishing a few small things and going through the interior for me - new seat hardware, carpet, package tray and a few other improvements. He's sent me video and audio of the car and I trust his judgement better than my own. Says I'll be very pleased. As for the glass - it's aging and since we'll have it stripped with all glass and rubber out, I'm going to put in new - at the very lease windshield and door glass.

Looks nice, looking forward to how you think it performs when you get it on the road.

You may find yourself surprised and put off the supercharger plans for a while. A mild cam 6.0 is just about right for these cars with plenty power for street shenanigans. I will bet once you drive it your first desired upgrade is an overdrive even with 3.42's.

By the way, I really need to fab something for my intake like you have to isolate from engine heat. Is that one of the Spectre kits?

Thanks. I've had the same conversation on both fronts with my son. ~You're probably right - I'm sure the 450-ish HP will feel like more than enough. (I probably just like the sound of saying the CTS-V upgrade is a possibility... lol) And - totally agree on the O/D upgrade. It currently cruises at 70mph around 2800rpm - a little high for my taste, but not enough to stress that LS. The swap artist who did the major mechanical work advised me of the same. Transmission will probably creep up the priority list once I get the car.
I'll ask my mechanic about the specifics on the intake kit - will get back to you.

Yes - Spectre kit with a few minor mods for fit.
