Found a 1962 Olds 98 in a barn.

All original, except for search lights added to fenders, and newer(?) 8 track bolted under the orig. radio. Not sure what to do with it, is very restorable, but i am unfamiliar with these Olds and will be here doing some research.
56k on 394 with bench seats and column shifter. I have some trim numbers, where would I decode them? The car came with a GM manual of the day, with a F-85 addendum, but doesn't have the trim or paint codes in it. This car was made in Lansing.

Wow!
From the front and rear she looks to be very solid! Almost looks like a good bath is all you would need.

Over the last 5 years I have halps a friend with a 61 ambulance and another friend with a 62 88 that had both sat for many years. we had no real problems other than what you would expect for any car has sat for a long time (flush the fuel system, replace hoses, belts, water pump, fuel pump, master cylinder, wheels cylinders and brake lines).

First thing it needs is a gas tank, the one in the trunk is kinda porous.
any ideas where to start looking for a new one?

Cool car,
I think I'd hit it with a buffer and see what happened. To me I think they look extra cool with the original paint.

Well, now it's Canadian, built in Michigan tho', I've got a Canadian built '72 Monte Carlo that has the factory air too, just changed it to serpentine with a Sanden compressor and March kit.

Is that paper in the oil fill tube cap to make it fit or to prevent a leak? If it is leaking or blowing-by oil and vapor you should check the PCV valve if that engine has one, not sure, is that a 394?

X2 on the local radiator shop, if they are skilled they can do wonders or if the tank is beyond repair they would most likely have resources to get a replacement.

That paper towel is just tucked there to keep from blowing away, it is a 394 hi-compression engine 10.25:1.
Never thought of a rad shop, have a good one in town here.
