1964 Clock Removal

1964 Clock Removal
I have worked on Cadillacs before and the manuals seemed more detailed. I have the 1964 Olds manual but it is vague on this.
It says all instruments can be removed with removing the lower panel, OK so how do I get the clock out.
It looks like the clock is attached to the bezel by three nuts from the rear. So i remove them and the bezel should come out with the clock attached to it.
Do I have it correct?

Not at all familiar with the 1964, but do have a 62, which I suspect is similar. On mine there are 3 screws that hold the clock in; 2 at top, 1 at bottom.

Remove them and the clock comes out from the front of the dash after the wiring is disconnected.

Yes there are 3 screws and 3 loops that they go through but the dash bezel is in the way
Does the bezel come off first or do I pull clock out from rear?? So are the screws in the bezel or the dash itself. Diagram looks like bezel

I would think the clock and surrounding bezel should come out, from the front, w/o having to remove anything other than the wiring and the 3 holding screws. I would also think the clock should come out from the front.

I am not able to answer your questions any further, not being familiar with the 1964 dash. Hopefully someone with a '64 will jump in and provide you with the info.
My suggestion is undo the retaining screws and see what the situation is then. That will tell you what more is, or is not, required to get the clock out. It is not likely that doing so will hurt or break anything.
From what I can tell the housing for the clock is black.
If that is correct, it would then remove from the back of the dash, as once installed it has a chrome surround.
With that, I have nothing further that I can add. Sorry.

Take out the glovebox and A/C duct if needed, reach up cattawampus behind the dash, undo the three screws and remove clock from BEHIND the dash. You will swear and scratch your arms up, but that's how it's done.
