Yeah, you're right. The motor does run, and seems strong so I don't really have any worries there.
It's a matter of being conflicted . . . I love the car and want to do it right, but I also don't want to get totally underwater on it. I've run a spreadsheet to total up the restoration. With the quote for body work + needed steel + maintenance on the suspension and steering components & brakes + full interior upholstery ends up around $13k. That doesn't include bumpers and replacing the pitted chrome.
Any advice is appreciated . . . I have a feeling I'm going to do as much as I can, and then farm out the floors and rockers. I've painted several cars, and can handle minor body work. Maybe it is time to figure out the big stuff.
