Hello building a 455 in a g body

I have a 1984 cutlass calais with lighting rod sticks in them


just wanted to know how to get some good horsepower out of a 455 or sum tricks of the trade to get me there and if i build a 200r4 to handle the 455 would that be a good transmission and what kind of gears do i need in the tranny is 4.10 gears ok with a 2000 stall

also have a 10 bolt auburn posi with 3.73 gears would that be good
but i am on a budget though

what kind of carb do i need as well

Welcome to CO. I prefer the quadrajet carburetor for all the modern Oldsmobile V8s.
