Exclamation Heads and pistons

I am new to the site.I know this is probably a redudant question! I have had a 1970 block and 1972 heads for about 15 yr's.All machine work done on the block. It's bored 60 over.Crank is 10/10 over. The pistons they gave me are dished! I had it done 15 yr's ago.I can't return them. I Have a 1985 buick full size in ment condition. I would like to put it in. The 307 is bad.I read on the site about using the 307 heads for hp. The intake and ex. ports are so small,Im thinking it will choke the thing out! The 72's should be 64cc and hard valve seats. I had a 1970 skylark, lots of power with the 350. It had dish pistons! I would like to build this one to run aswell as it did. My quest. is what heads to go with, and what about the pistons? Flat top? Thanks for any insite.

Don't use the 307 heads as they will hurt you all around. The 350 heads are what you're looking for.
The pistons being dished is how most Olds pistons are. There were a FEW flat tops, but not many. They were only used in the W31 engines.

Welcome to CO. Any identifying marks on the pistons that may help determine the exact static compression ratio they were designed to provide with stock heads? That would be a starting point to determine the rest of your build. Or, if there are none or you can't see them because the engine is assembled, do you have any records of the machine work?
