Fixin up an 80's Ninety Eight..
Hi everyone.. new to Olds, bought an '83 Ninety Eight Reg Brougham last May, white with white top and blue interior, hopefully getting closer to getting it on the road after redoing the brakes and some cosmetic issues. Have wanted a 98 for some time now, wasn't sure which year to choose. With mine I had to fix leaks from the cowl and windshield, ended up gutting the interior to replace the jute under the carpet, then cleaned off all the seats at that time, redid the headliner and sunvisors, treated some rust on the floorpans, etc. Someone put a TH-350 in place of the original 200r4 and I hope to put the correct trans back in. Found an NOS grille, replaced that and the headlight bezels, nos hood ornament, trunk lock cover, odds and ends. Just need bumpers now to finish things... will get pics eventually. Overall a clean car but a little neglected and worn from the elements.
My first Olds but familiar with this generation of cars, my other two being an '83 Bonneville (my daily) and an '87 Caprice Landau (was my daily driver but needs an engine now). Well hope to see you on the forums!
