Feeling welcomed already
I have a 'parts wanted' thread that I started off with, so I thought I should introduce myself.
My name is Jeff and I live in Oklahoma City. I purchased a 1953 Rocket 88 2 door Sedan just before Christmas and gave it to my Dad for his Christmas present/70th birthday. He lives in the D/FW area and keeps the car at his home. I am taking responsibility for for the car as far as insurance and maintenance so he can just enjoy his trip back in time. I love his stories of people rushing to pull up next to him to give thumbs up or to inquire about the car. I just wanted something he could enjoy on nice days and the occasional car shows around town. Here are a couple pics of the car:

Welcome Jeff. I think you'll find C.O. to be a very user friendly site. There are several active members here with the same vintage car, so should be informative exchanges or info sharing.
What you did for your Dad is something special I'm sure he will appreciate forever!
For some reason, the pics don't appear to have come in (at least on my computer). Ah, there they are, disregard. That car looks AWESOME! Love that blue. The Cragars?? give it a nice aggressive look

Welcome, very nice present to your dad. Tell your dad to take a drive to Granbury next weekend. The N Texas Olds club is having their Zone show on Saturday. Their will be a lot of Olds people and cars here. The show will be at the Hilton.

Great story, and GREAT GIFT to your Dad! Gorgeous color (it just POPS) and love the Crager's! Bet it even sounds good! Yes, please ask your Dad to come on down to the North Texas Olds Club Zone Show in Granbury next Friday-Saturday-Sunday! We are hoping for 50 Oldsmobile's to be there! And a great time will be had by all!!!!
